Everybody has had this problem before. A clogged drain is very annoying and it especially occurs in the kitchen. This happens because many people do their dishes and that when they do, food leftovers remain behind in the drainpipe. These leftovers get stuck, sometimes causing the problem to increase by the day.
Of course you can call a plumber, but in this day and age it’s not easy to find a plumber, given that they’re often fully booked for months in advance. Moreover, a plumber easily costs €60 per hour. This means it’s quite worth it to try and fix it yourself, first, and we have the perfect tip to do that. All you need are two household products you probably already have lying around the house.
Firstly, you need two things in order to unclog the drain, namely baking soda and lemon. You start the process by pouring 4 table spoons of baking soda into the drain.
Next, you take half a lemon and squeeze the juice out over the drain. This creates a mixture that dissolves the food leftovers, in part because of the acids in the mixture. You should leave this mixture in the drain for at least an hour before flushing it with luke warm water.
If all went well, your drain is unclogged and the problem is solved. If the problem persists, you can still call a plumber, but in most cases this is enough to solve the issue.
